The Research Cluster ‘Innovations, Technology and Social Change’ at the UI School of Global Strategic Studies held a mini workshop with the theme ‘Ngabuburit Space: Unpacking Thesis Journey’ on April 2 2023 at the Caffee Cikini Jakarta Workroom. Master’s students who are preparing or in the process of writing a thesis from several SKSG study programs and across UI faculties participated in this activity enthusiastically. Dr. Lin Yola as head of the Research Cluster shared important points in the thesis writing process, including tips for publishing scientific articles, preparing a thesis proposal, seminar results, writing a thesis, final trial exams, and submitting a thesis.
This workshop was also attended by several alumni who shared their experiences and tips. Among the global strategic thesis topics proposed as discussion material are ‘Walkability Index in Transit-Oriented Areas, Case Study: Bogor Heritage Ecopark’, ‘The Effect of Spatial Configuration and Microclimate Modification on Pedestrian Thermal Comfort in Tropical City Center (Case Study: Thamrin and Sudirman Street Sidewalk, Jakarta)’ and Study of colonial collection restitution activities and historical injustices by Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium to former colonial countries’.
