JAKARTA – A number of South Jakarta State Madrasah Aliyah (MAN) students took part in Cyber Security Awareness (CYSA) training. This activity was held to create public awareness regarding cyber threats.

This training event was held by the University of Indonesia School of Strategic and Global Studies (SKSG) Community Service Team. Chairman of the Organizing Committee for Community Service Activities, Husnul FItri, said that this training aims to provide an understanding of the importance of the role of digital citizens in cyber security and improve basic digital security skills.

This event was attended by a number of student representatives from MAN 13 and MAN 7 South Jakarta. Husnul continued, digital security is something that is no longer negotiable in technological development, but often the level of awareness of digital security is still not built up in society.

“Understanding of digital security must also be improved and is not limited to technical matters but also includes all elements of digital citizenship, such as digital law, digital ethics and digital literacy so that the understanding and ability that must be built first is the awareness that every technology user has.” “is now part of a responsible digital citizen,” he said on Thursday (27/7/2023).

This training activity which took place at the Japanese Study Center, UI Depok Campus, apart from discussing digital citizenship, knowledge about negative content, hoaxes and sexting, as well as cyber bullying.

MAN 7 accompanying teacher, Sayyid said, this training was very useful for providing additional knowledge and skills that were not obtained at school because school IT teaching was limited to the existing curriculum.
