SSGS UI Campaigns Smart Green for a more Sustainable World

Climate Change and Global Warming threat is real. Sustainability and responding to the issues of climate change should not be a stand-alone policy, but rather an overriding strategy that impacts on all actions and responsibilities of all actors.

Living Smart Green on a high energy demand and environmental damage, as well as promoting the health of the planet by responsibly using natural resources.

As a forefront Postgraduate School, School of Strategic and Global Studies Universitas Indonesia (SSGS UI) highly concern on the strategic and global commitment related the Sustainable Development policies and implementation to combating global climate change.

With this, this year SSGS UI with UCSI University Malaysia initiated a CSR SMART GREEN CAMPAIGN 2021 on December 2nd, 2021 aiming to help the planet at a time by reporting environmental news that inspires wider communities to share and take action.

The campaign offers sharing an intellectual discussion on the Smart Green best practices among academics, policy makers and NGOs to the online societies in two Countries; Indonesia and Malaysia.

Dr. Lin Yola, Manager of Smart Green Campaign 2021, gave her remarks in the opening right after the national anthem of Indonesia and Malaysia presented.

Dr. Lin pinpointed the key of strategic solution to current global crisis which is a strong collaboration to take action on the smart green movement.

Then, Athor Subroto, PhD, the Director of School of Strategic and Global Studies officiated the Smart Green 2021 Campaign and launched the e-Smart Green that will be operating next year, aiming to share the Smart Green Platform of Initiatives, Practice, and Campaign among the International online societies includes Academics, Policy Makers, NGOs and public.

Smart Green Campaign 2021 presented five honorable speakers, namely Joune J. Ganda, S.E. (Regent of North Minahasa), Ir. H. Imam Budi Hartono (Vice Mayor of Depok), Dr. Teng Kah Kou (Low Carbon Innovation Hub, UCSI University Malaysia), Norani Abu Bakar (Executive Director of SDGs Secretariat UCSI University Malaysia) Dr, Daru Setyorini (Founder of Ecoton Indonesia) and two Student Ambasador Dyah Nawang Ratnasari (SSGS UI) and Lee Yen Yiin (UCSI University Malaysia) that shared the Smart Green concept, initiative and practices in the government agencies, societies and academic campuses.

This campaign attended by 17 bodies and institutions from university campus, international Schools, local authorities and NGOs who’s interactively involved within the campaign programs. It is a significant campaign in giving environmental message to everyone to put hands together to take action for a more sustainable world.
